Parents

If your child has been invited to attend a LOG weekend, he/she may seem to know very little about the program and the upcoming weekend. We want youth to come with a curiosity and excitement about the weekend and be open to whatever may happen.

However – we want you to be comfortable allowing your son or daughter to participate in LOG and will tell you anything and everything that you want to know about who we are and what we are about.

Most Importantly:

  • We are Christians – Jesus Christ is Lord and Savior of our lives and the world.

  • We are interdenominational – open to youth from any faith background.

  • We are open and accepting of everyone – we affirm the things we hold in common and set aside the things that separate us.

LOG is not about teaching specific doctrines or dogma. LOG is about realizing and experiencing God’s gracious love for us and encouraging youth in their desire to grow in their understanding of and love for God. Youth who participate in LOG are encouraged to deepen their participation in and commitment to their own community of faith as well as their personal relationship with God.

We promise you that there is nothing like an initiation – nothing that is embarrassing or designed to make the youth feel uncomfortable. The purpose of the LOG weekends is to communicate to the participants that they are loved – loved by God – and loved by those who are a part of the LOG community and serve on the leadership team.

Our program does have some surprises – but they are intended to be ways of experiencing of God’s grace – nothing earned or expected – but gifts received because of God’s love. We will explain all the surprises to you if you ask – we just want the youth to come and experience them for themselves.
